WaveKat Voice
WaveKat Voice is a desktop softphone for SIP. Plug in your provider’s account, and you can answer and place calls from your laptop — no extra hardware, no browser tab to keep open.
What you’ll need
- A SIP account with a provider — Twilio, 2talk, OnSIP, Plivo, Telnyx, or anyone else who hands you
username + domain + passwordcredentials. If you’re not sure where to start, see Picking a SIP provider. - The WaveKat Voice app installed on your machine.
Setting up your first account
The app walks you through it on first launch:
- Pick your provider from the dropdown. We pre-fill the technical details (registrar host, port, transport) so you don’t have to look them up.
- Enter your account name, username, and password. These come from your provider’s dashboard — see the per-provider guides below for where to find them.
- Save. The app connects to your provider; the green dot next to your account on Home means you’re online and reachable.
If your provider isn’t in the dropdown, pick Enter details manually at the right of the field and fill the form yourself.
